Emmanuel’s Great Adventure!

The Great Adventure Bible Study is coming to Emmanuel this Fall!

This Adult Bible Study will meet on Tuesday evenings, following Novena, at 8pm and conclude at 9:30. For those that would rather attend a morning class, the same Tuesday night material will be repeated on Saturdays from 9:30am to 11am.

The cost for the materials is $45. Emmanuel parishioners in need of financial assistance need only to contact John Popp at the parish office.

This study is open to anyone, and you are encouraged to bring a friend or two! Classes will run from September through May, 2011.

Education Assistance Fund

Fr. Lee has always supported Catholic families who wish to provide a solid Catholic education for their children. In the past he has directed funds to provide scholarships for needy Catholic students to attend local Catholic schools. This year Fr. Lee is focusing this support to Emmanuel families who have students in Catholic schools or are home schooling. Specifically, the program helps with expenses for tuition at a Catholic school or expenses for home school families including: books, workbooks and other educational materials; tuition or fees for home education support services such as enrollment in Seton or Mother of Divine Grace; and tuition or fees for expanded educational offerings through co-op programs to include math, science, art and music classes. The amount of financial support per student will vary each year depending on the proceeds of the trust that supports this program and the number of children that are eligible to apply. RCIA Classes

Congratulations to all of our 2nd grade children who received their First Eucharist at the 10:30 Mass on Sunday!

Dear People of Emmanuel,

I have neglected to update you on my situation, so now I will give you a few reflections on what is happening: the radiation treatment is over, and I have begun physical therapy again. This will last a few weeks.

Thank you for your gift of prayers and good wishes and be sure of my prayers for all of you. May the Lord strengthen you all during this Easter Season. I am not sure of when I will return to Emmanuel. It is a long drawn out process, hopefully in a reasonable amount of time. I thank all of the priests who have substituted for me over these 4 months.

Divine Mercy Sunday Celebration

Sunday, April 11, Emmanuel will resume the tradition of celebrating Divine Mercy throughout the day.

The schedule is as follows:

1:00 PM Blessing of the Divine Mercy Image

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

1:00 – 2:45 PM Confessions

2:00 PM Rosary

2:45 PM Benediction

3:00 PM 3 o’Clock Prayer

Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Holy Mass

A Plenary Indulgence is granted to all those who participate in prayers/devotions in honor of the Divine Mercy held in a Church of Chapel under the ordinary conditions:

1. Sacramental Confession (8 days before or after the Feast)

2. Eucharistic Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday

3. Prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father. (1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)

Youth Group Spring Retreat

Youth in grades 7 through 12 are invited and encouraged to attend our annual Spring Retreat, March 26-28, 2010, at Solsberry Hill Retreat Center near Bloomington Indiana.

The cost for the retreat is $65 and due no later than Wednesday, March 24 at 9PM. Forms are available for download below.

Paper Recycling Program

Emmanuel now has a paper recycling program that will help raise money for the parish. The green and Yellow dumpster can accept all types of paper products (except phone books and cardboard.)
